8th grade batiks!

Batik is an ancient art form originating in Indonesia utilizing a wax resist process and dye baths.  Using a modified technique, Art 8 students are creating plant and animal batiks.

recycled portraits

Using small pieces of magazine, Art 8 students created self-portrait collages.  Students were able to achieve some amazing detail using monochromatic color schemes.

collaboration....

Students from Art 8 classes worked in collaboration to create massive portraits of famous musicians from the past decades for the upcoming band concert. Each student received a 1 x 1" portion of the photo and enlarged it to add to the giant portrait.  The one pictured above is of the iconic figure, "Prince."
